Probably the most illustrious of all Fulwell Professionals, Bill Cox, with the club from 1946 –1975. Representing Britain in the Ryder Cup matches of 1935 & 1937 he established an extraordinary reputation as a teacher of golf, publishing several instructional books through his long career and creating a renown academy at Fulwell in the 1950’s. He was Golf Illustrated’s chief instruction expert and a member of the BBC commentary team, receiving the OBE for services to golf in 1967.
