Rules
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27)
a) Beyond any fence or railing bounding the course.
b) Beyond the line defined by the White Posts to the rear of the 9th and l8th Greens.
2. WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)
The pond at the 9th hole and all ditches.
3. LATERAL WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)
All ditches running parallel to the line of play.
4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24).
All steps, artificial surfaces of paths and roads, seats, shelters, ball washers.
5.
Protection of young trees identified by stakes or surrounding wire cages or rabbit guards. If such a tree interferes with a player's
stance
or the area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b(i).
The ball may be cleaned when so lifted.
6. STONES IN BUNKERS.
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions Rule 24-1 applies.
7. INTEGRAL PART OF THE COURSE.
The small putting green is an integral part of the course but may be used for practice before a stipulated round.
During play a ball coming to rest on this green MUST be treated as a ball on a wrong putting green in accordance with Rule 25-1 b.
8. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS.
All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2.
In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole.
the player may obtain relief, without penalty as follows:- If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction,
it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which a) is not nearer the hole, b) avoids such intervention and
c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE
Match Play - Loss of Holes: Stroke Play - Two Strokes

WINTER RULES.
- A ball lying on a closely mown area, through
the green may, without penalty, be moved or may be lifted, cleaned
and placed within six inches of where it originally lay, but not
nearer the hole and not in a hazard or on a putting green.
A player may move or place the ball once and
after the ball has been so moved or placed it is in play.
Penalty for breach of Local Rule:
Match Play - Loss of hole.
Stroke play - Two strokes.
- Through the green, a ball which is embedded in
its own pitch-mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted
without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where
it lay but not nearer the hole.The ball when dropped must strike a part of the
course through the green.
Exception: A player may not obtain relief
under this local rule if it is clearly unreasonable for him to
play a stroke because of interference by anything other than the
condition covered by this local rule.

Other associated guidance:
Status of temporary green
When not in play temporary greens are designated as “ground
under repair” and relief must be taken.
Status of main green when temporary in play
A ball played onto a main green must be lifted and
dropped at the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole.
Huxley Tees
If a ball is played onto a Huxley Tee then it may be lifted
and dropped at the nearest point of relief, not nearer the
hole being played.
- Flagsticks are not to be tended except in competitions.
