Immediately you pass through the
entrance gate of The Fulwell Golf Club you enter a microcosm of rural London
that belies its urban location.
Originally laid out by Open
Champion J.H.Taylor in 1904, then remodelled in the 1950s by John Morrison,
partner to the famous Harry Colt, Fulwell's parkland setting presents an
ever-interesting challenge. The presentation of the course is a source of
immense pride to the greenstaff and the club has earned a fine reputation
for the consistency of the fairways and greens.
The clubhouse, which was
extensively refurbished in 1992, has a stately elegance, with attractive
lounge bars, dining room, large spike bar and a terrace and lawn overlooking
at least four holes, including the 18th. With resident restaurateur Adrian
Whalley providing a superb dining experience, the club is ideally placed to
look after the needs of society and corporate days. There are eight entertainment packages to choose from there is
something to suit all tastes and budgets.
Fulwell is also unique in
offering a package for non-golfers accompanying society or corporate guests.
By teaming up with its neighbouring Amida Health and Fitness club, guests
can make use of the luxurious spa, swimming pool and fitness centre as an
alternative to golf, before joining partners or colleagues for evening
dining.
