Each of our society packages is named in recognition of the prestigious golf professionals that have served at Fulwell Golf Club and made it a centre of excellence for teaching the game of golf.
Coffee on arrival 18 holes of golf Light lunch Phil Gaudin(pictured right), professional from 1906 - 1914, competed as an international for England in 1908, finishing 9th in The Open Championship.
Coffee on arrival 18 holes of golf 3 course lunch Phil Taylor, professional from 1914 – 1921, played in every Open Championship from 1909 to 1921, leaving the Club in that year to take up the position as Head Professional at the Victoria Golf Club in British Columbia, Canada, where he remained until his retirement in 1958.
Coffee on arrival 27 holes of golf Light lunch George Oke, professional from 1921 - 1946, was an excellent tournament golfer, club maker and in 1930 appointed Chairman of the PGA.
Coffee on arrival 36 holes of golf Light lunch The World famous Henry Cotton, began his career at Fulwell as assistant under George Oke in 1923/4 along with his brother Leslie.
Coffee on arrival 27 holes of golf Light lunch 3 course evening meal Probably the most illustrious of all Fulwell Professionals, Bill Cox (pictured right), with the club from 1946-1975. Representing Britain in the Ryder Cup matches of 1935 & 1937 he established an extraordinary reputation as a teacher of golf, publishing several instructional books through his long career and creating a renowned academy at Fulwell in the 1950’s. He was Golf Illustrated’s chief instruction expert and a member of the BBC commentary team, receiving the OBE for services to golf in 1967.
Coffee on arrival 36 holes of golf Light lunch 3 course evening meal David Haslam, professional from 1975-1995 remains an active member of the club today, playing to a handicap of 5. For a time he held the course record at nearby Ashford Manor Golf Club and was Wiltshire County Champion on no less than 6 occasions. David played in several exhibition matches with the likes of Bobby Locke and Peter Alliss and in 1969 he refereed the Ryder Cup match between Tony Jacklin and Neil Coles against Lee Trevino and Jerry Barber.
